Olathe Northwest HS. Choir {Kansas City Photographer}
This was the first time I shot a big group like this. The students were great, which made my job easy. I warned the mom helpers (by the way thank you moms) that it would be a challenge to get the guys to smile for me. I was wrong. They actually challenged each other to take the picture in one shot. They gave each other the knuckle fives when one did. Boys always make every thing a competition. It cracked me up. But I couldn't let them know because then it would not be cool to continue the game.
I was honored to have been part of the Fall Choir Festival. Pam, ONW Choir Director, was chosen to receive an award for "The High School Choir Director Of The Year" by her peers. She is so gifted. One of many things I heard about Pam was that all her students love her. It's a reflection of how much she loves what she does.
Last but not least, I want to thank two people who made this project come together. My mentor Tim Yeaglin, owner and photographer of Yeaglin Portraiture and Imaging. Thank you for your invaluable insight on the steps it took to make this project happen. Thank you for helping me shoot and your technical expertise during the shoot. There is no way I could have done it without you.
The other gentlemen I want to thank is Jim Newell, owner and photographer of
Studio 212 Photography. Thank you for lending me your light and also for giving me advice on how to rock this project out and future projects. You are so awesome.
"We so appreciate the generosity and professionalism of Koko Cooper! Our Olathe Northwest HS. Choir pictures look awesome! She is able to capture the kids personality and does a wonderful job! Thank you Koko!" Pam Williamson
